Starting on 8th February, the church are working through Biblica’s ‘Community Bible Experience’. It’s a series of 5 readings a week for 8 weeks covering the whole of the New Testament using a book called ‘The Books of the Bible’ – a new presentation of Scripture that strips away centuries of artificial formatting, leaving behind nothing but pure Bible text – chapter and verse numbers are removed; natural literary breaks are restored; books are read in a different order; it’s laid out in a single column and there are book intros to unlock the context of each book.
Why are we doing it? As Christians, we need to read the Bible to get to know God better. Let’s get excited about God’s word and let it mould us, let’s try to understand its message better by reading it in context, let’s read it in bigger chunks, let’s read it together! Every few weeks, we’ll be going into our Home groups to discuss how this works out in our everyday lives.
